Flowing Hair Dollar and Draped Bust Dollar

The first silver dollar, the Flowing Hair Dollar, was initially minted in 1794 his dollar depicted Liberty with flowing hair on the obverse, and an eagle on the reverse. Both Liberty and the eagle changed over time. In 1795 the dollar became the Draped Bust Dollar, and in 1798 a shield was added to the eagle.
