Cloisonne Coins

Cloisonne’ coins have ridges, or wires, that separate the surface of the coin into compartments which are filled with thick enamel giving a three dimensional effect. Cook Islands $5 cloisonne’ coins first emerged in the World of Flowers series. These are 25 gram Sterling silver coins, and minted in PROOF. Mintage is 2,500 for each, which is very low. 2009 Poppy 2009 Pansy 2010 – none known 2011 Daisy 2012 Cherry Blossom In 2010 a multitude of Fabrege’ egg fine silver coins, each containing 20 grams of 0.999 silver, were produced as $5 Cook Islands coins. Many are enhanced with Bohemian crystals, and some are embellished with gold. The multitude of these issues can only be appreciated by viewing the images.
