Australian Silver Opal coins

The Opal Series consists of innovative coins by the Perth Mint.  A nice opal is inserted into the center of the coin, and the image viewed through the opal.

The latest coin in this series is the 2013 Kangaroo, which sold out quickly.

The first two, the 2012 Koala and the 2012 Wombat had sold put previously.

Each coin is one ounce of fine silver.  Mintage is limited to 8,000 per coin.  These coins are boxed and in nice display cases, and accompanied by numbered Certificates of Authenticity.

The next release will be the Possum.
