Hologram Coins

Many of the most renown mints of the world are currently producing hologram coins. Of them, the Royal Canadian Mint appears to be the leader, issuing a multitude of hologram coins. The Royal Canadian Mint has been doing this long enough that any glitches are certainly worked out of the process. And, the Royal Canadian Mint is dedicated to high quality.  Another, the Royal Australian Mint, seems to have achieved a high quality in its hologram coin production.

The Royal Canadian Mint is perhaps the leader in holographic coins. RCM has been minting hologram coins for years, and has had several successful series. In 2010, in celebrating Canadian Olympic pride, the Royal Canadian Mint issues an unusually large number of hologram coins, each celebrating a different winter Olympic sport. Any collector of coins or Olympic memorabilia would do well to view these magnificent coins.

Now, the ROYAL Canadian Mint releases an occasional holographic coin, and has several well known series to its credit.  The holographic fractional maple leaf series is one annual release of multiple holographic coins that keep the Royal Mint in the forefront.

The Transportation Series, the Natural Wonders Series, the Landmark Series, the Tall ships Series, and the Olympic Games are some examples of coins issued in the past by the Royal Canadian Mint. These coins generally carry a denomination of $20, $25, or $30. The Royal Canadian Mint also produces Maple Leaf holograms, both individually as well as the above mentioned sets. Gold holograms are also made, but can be real expensive.

One thing that seems not to impress collectors is for a coin to have a holographic feature added.  If it is not as it came from a mint, it is not worthy of many collections.  So, finding a popular coin to which a private mint has added a hologram may not be as special as a mint produced hologram.

One new issue from the Royal Australian Mint is the Sydney New Year’s Eve Fireworks coin.  It is an excellent example of how the change of color as the coin is shifted can add a whole new perspective.

We have this coin in stock at Black Spaniel Gallery Coins.

We also have an older Maple Leaf Hologram Fractional Set.

And, a nice butterfly hologram coin.

In fact, we have even more holographic coins in stock.  Some are awaiting being added to our site, so check back often.
