The coins are part of the Discover Australia Series. What is exciting about the Discover Australia Series is that the coins differ from the five silver and the five gold coins issued in the same year.
The platinum coins were being minted in multiple sizes, 1/10 Troy ounce and 1/2 Troy ounce. However, the 2012 issues were only minted in the 1/10 Troy ounce size.

The Perth Mint also produces Platypus and Koala platinum coins, for those looking for 1 Troy ounce bullion coins. These are in limited mintage, so they may also be numismatically significant.
