Privy Marks on Coins

What are privy marks? They are small markings on coins that honor something else, such as the Canadian Maple Leaf with the Titanic privy mark. These are often used on the Maple Leaf and on the Perth Mint Kookaburra Coins, and because of this the value of the coins generally increases. A few larger coins have multiple privy marks.
